- The Jake La Botz Band @ Redwood Bar
DECISION:
Oliver Future begins his residency at The Echo with up and coming band, Useless Keys, who make beautiful, eerie music and were interviewed by Joe Fielder a couple of days ago. Castledoor (great photo above by Jeff Koga) play their celebratory power pop and employ Rockabilly/punksters The Monolators to help inaugurate their Spaceland residency. Psychedelic space/punk band, Pocahaunted are a band I've wanted to catch up with, and as they are about to go on a massive European tour, tonight may be the last chance for a while.
Tuesday, June 2:

DECISION:
Tricky night here with the Olin and the Moon record release at The Echo with the stellar line up of Eagle and Talon, Deep Sea Diver and Leslie & the Badgers on the east side, and seldom recently seen The Movies return, with mega-talented support from Seasons, Manhattan Murder Mystery and Odd Modern downtown at The Bordello, not to ignore random sets by Downtown/Union and The Minor Canon around town. And that's only half of it. Good luck choosing.
Wednesday, June 3:
- Jack Left Town, Yell Fire!, Kozmonaut, Jesse Deluxe, The Diamond Light, Back Ted N-Ted @ The Troubadour

- Matt Ellis, Joshua Norton, Steelwells, Buster Blue @ Silver Lake Lounge
- KLUM @ The Good Hurt
- Fire Bug @ Skinney's Lounge
DECISION:
I'm ignorant of many of the acts tonight, so it might be a perfect chance to check out the swirling, dense indie rock of KLUM (above) at The Good Hurt,or sample the anti-mechanical-establishmentarianism message of Automatique that they package as pretty indie pop at 3 of Clubs. I very much like what I've heard from these bands.

- Seasons, The Monolators, Spider Problem, Meho Plaza, The Mormons @ Mr. T's Bowl
- Jon Brion and Friends @ Largo at the Coronet
- We Should Be Dead, Marvelous Toy, Les Blanks @ The Unknown Theatre
DECISION:
Elaine Layabout returns with the third Hella Hipster Hoedown at Pehrspace. If the last one is any indication this will be a night to remember. Her bands tonight include Restavrant and Slang Chicken, who will surely get the crowd to their feet. Hoedown indeed! Unfortunately there's also Seasons, The Monolators and Spider Problem at Mr. T's Bowl. And The Fuxedos, Gliss and Marvelous Toy here and there.

The Gooseberries Book Party should be of great interest, featureing solo sets by Sarah Negahdari of The Happy Hollows, Malcolm Soza of Rademacher and Andrew Lynch of The Poor Excuses. Crane's Hollwood Tavern has Tommy Santee Klaws. The healing soothe-rock of Timonium, beautiful chamber pop courtesy of Signal Hill (CD release) and Beware of Safety are being presented by Radio Free Silver Lake at Pehrspace.
