Tonight's show at Spaceland is a good last-minute opportunity to see disparate acts Red Cortez, Kenan Bell, and Robert Francis and find out what all the bloggers have been talking about when they talk about heart.
The event is a fundraiser for Taco Zone, the taco truck that appears every night in front of the nasty Von's over on Alvarado, which was damaged last Friday when unidentified persons tossed a Molotov cocktail onto its roof. Since the spot is frequented by numerous post-showgoers, word spread fast via Twitter and many worried that the truck would close down, but it returned the next night and the aforementioned acts organized to help pay for its charred top.
What's all the hub-bub about Taco Zone? I can only tell my own experience. Right before I left for Boston, Claire from Afternoons recommended I stop by for their suidero (beef brisket) tacos and sample mixing their sauces together. I did and plotted a return for months. Last weekend, I snuck over there twice and they were as good as I remember them. Worth checking out.
