1) I've only been to two of the Happy Hollows Spaceland residency shows this month, but have been completely blown away by both. My only advice is to buy the album now, and see them before they start playing fan-unfriendly venues. If you haven't been yet this month, definitely go to the residency show on Monday, November 30. The fact that the also-awesome Pity Party is playing the same show leaves you with no excuse not to go. Here's the only video I could find of this week's show.
2) This rooftop performance by the Hoof & the Heel (somewhere in Venice Beach) is worth watching. And their sound might vaguely remind you of the early-mid 90s. Or it might remind you of that if you were me. These guys are located in Montreal, which makes yet another reason to check out one of my favorite cities in the western hemisphere.

3) New video from Bolognese band My Awesome Mixtape for "Hearts to Lend" from their sophomore album "How Could A Village Turn Into A Town." This is more of the early-mid 2000s era electronic hipster rock that I never got tired of, which is a plus. Stay until the end to watch an incredibly low-budget video turn hi-tech and fancy.
4) This summer I posted the brilliant comedy video "Hipster Job", which depicted the rise and fall of a Williamsburg hipster who due to God losing a bet with Satan ends up losing his American Apparel model girlfriend, gets bed bugs and is told by the Apple geniuses that his Macbook is f**ked. From the same director, Thomas de Napoli is a video for L.A. musician Guy Fantastico. The song is called "Nom de Guerre" and bears some stylistic resemblance to the previous masterpiece.
5) If you've been paying ANY attention to Video Free Silver Lake over the last 9 months, you know that I think that the self titled release of the Knife side-project Fever Ray's self titled release was one of the best of the year. Here is yet another excellent video off that album.
"Keep the Streets Empty For Me".
6) People seem to be into the extremely creepy new Major Lazer video for "Keep it Goin' Louder", so in case you haven't seen it, here you go:

How bogus is it that Pitchfork only gave Spells a 7.2? I mean REALLY. Email me at rfsljed at gmail dot com and roll your eyes with me by email. Or tell me what to post next week.
Sara did a survey on my blog def. one of the funnest and most colorful. I'm upset to have missed all the residency nights but sometimes a person is just ot broke to see a free show.
