1) Radars to the Sky has grown awfully sweet in their old age (the VFSL writer wrote) affectionately), as evidenced by this live performance of"As the Nurses Scurry", recorded for Gorilla Acoustic (click for interview). RTTS is doing a release show for their new e.p. (the Detritus e.p.) next Thursday, Feb 23 at The Satellite with Naive Thieves, Francisco the Man, and Manhattan Murder Mystery presented by Radio Free Silver Lake. The Gorilla Acoustic website isn't allowing embedding, but you can watch the video here. It prominently features their young child, who seems to have sprouted up into a full-on human being before my eyes!
2) bikos has just released part 3 of its "Officially Homemade Video" series, which, according to the creators, consist of one take, single shot music videos of songs off of their (quite good) new album. The video for "Future Me" vaguely resembles that of Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" or Weird Al's "Bob." Bikos are playing on Thursday, March 1 at the Silverlake Lounge.
4) While Iceland's Pascal Pinon's recent demo video for "Ekki vanmeta" is not their most ambitious work, it consists of a pleasant enough home videos, and recordings from PP's younger sisters (Jófríður and Ásthildur -- the girls from Pascal Pinon -- remain fairly young themselves). Supposedly they are planning a tour of Japan, along with an EP to support the tour. Oh to be in Kyushu!
