Monday night, closing your Labor Day Weekend in style, Radio Free Silver Lake presents The Lonely Wild playing a free show to kick off their September residency at the Satellite. The Lonely Wild have consistently impressed the RFSL staff since they played a midnight set at the Marvelous Toy residency at Labrie's in 2010. The band has a rare combination of substantive songwriting and serious musicianship that brings a fresh and innovative voice to twang-inflected indie rock in much the way that acts like Wilco and the Avett Brothers do."Over Edgeware" from the forthcoming album The Sun As It Comes plays like Neil Young at his most political and most passionate, lyrics answered by an equally impassioned guitar line. The Lonely Wild connect with their live audience with full hearts, nothing short of breathtaking.
Playing in support on Monday September 3rd are Tenlons Fort, Dylan Trees, and The Wild Reeds. Full details about the residency can be found at the band's facebook event page.
