This week Video Jed is off travelling the country this week in search of new videos, and in all fairness, taking a much-needed vacation from helming Video Free Silver Lake. This week I play substitute teacher and attempt to dodge spitballs. Earlier in the week I put out a call on twitter for your suggestions for this week's VFSL and received a nice "weird and wonderful" list of links from occasional contributor Nathaniel.
1. Chasing Kings
The eastside's own Chasing Kings just released this video for "Do It To Myself" from their upcoming album Nice Guys, out digitally October 16.
2. Bad Books
Bad Books play the Troubadour tonight. Check out this video for "Forest Whitaker" featuring a veritable plethora of movie clips of Forest Whitaker. Nice.
Consequence of Sound has partnered with North Avenue Studio in Florida to record a live performance series called Off the Avenue with the idea of recording "the best sounding live series on the web." Today they showcase Edwward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes. (Thanks to Dane Sundseth for the tip.)
4. Del Rubio Triplets
Just in time for Halloween Nathaniel sends us the Del Rubio Triplets singing "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" In a pumpkiin patch. Weird and wonderful.
5. Amanda Lear
Amanda Lear sings the alphabet. Just watch.
6. Ann Margaret
Wrapping up our selections of sexy sixties singers, Ann Margaret in this soda commerical. The hair, the disco ball ring, oh my.
