1) Perhaps my tastes have grown even wimpier in my old age, but Lavender Diamond's new album Incorruptible Heart has been one of my favorites of the year, and "Light My Way" is at this time my favorite track. In the video for the song, Becky Stark, also visibly aged in temperment, if not in physical appearance, dances in from of an oil refinery in Long Beach.
2) My Bloody Valentine-sounding like Tamaryn will be playing at the Echo on November 23. Check out their recent video for "The Garden" off
the new album Tender New Signs.
3) Argentine, but Los Angeles based singer/actress Mia Maestro's new video for "Blue Eyed Sailor" features her in various states of painted undress, while remaining remarkably SFW. Reveals Extraordinary Video For "Blue Eyed Sailor". The video was directed by Juan Azulay and Guillermo Navarro (Pan's Labyrinth), and (according to the press release) "based on the beautiful camouflages of artist Cecilia Paredes." Mia Maestro's upcoming EP (featuring this song) will be released on December 4. Of course, I am interested by the fact that the song was produced and mixed by Icelandic record producer Valgeir Sigurðsson (Björk, Feist) and recorded at Greenhouse Studios, in Reykjavík, Iceland.
