LA's Marvelous Toy are one of those rare groups I've found to just be immediately frigging likable. It's been a few years since I first heard the demo tracks from their debut EP and they've reinvented themselves several times since then, but they've been made of heart the entire time.
Lead Jordan Hudock once summed up the band’s sound as “a lonely boy looking out the window in a 2nd floor apartment overlooking a dirty street as the sky turns a blueish-grey and ever so lightly the first drops of a rainstorm begin to fall. BOOM.” Still applicable? Sometimes yes, sometimes less so. They're hard to describe, even perhaps by themselves.
Jordan's spent much of the last year playing keyboards on tour with The Henry Clay People but he's back in town now so the band can headline RFSL's FREE Tuesday night residency at LaBrie's, which starts next week w/ Modern Time Machines and The Lonely Wild (former members of You Me & Iowa). Check out the full line-up right here.
Here are a handful of videos and MP3s that show how the band has grown and changed over the last few years, as well as why they should dominate your free time this December.
