1) It's been a long time since Tony and Gabe have put up anything new on their live video performance hosting site. Which is a shame, considering I have so much enjoyed their previous postings (Walking Sleep, Big Whup, etc.) The good news is that Tony and Gabe are back, with two new songs from Seasons' upcoming EP Autumn, performed live at Pehrspace. See below for the very psychedelic "Lazy Bones" and click here for "Of Our Discontent".

3) Back in October, I wrote a sappily positive review of the Airborne Toxic Event's performance at London's The Social. A great show it was, but Monday's sold out spot at the Satellite, kicking off their Origin's tour (sold out shows at five L.A. venues to promote the new album All at Once: Satellite, Troubadour, El Rey, Henry Fonda, John Anson Ford Amphitheatre) outdid it by a margin. One of the best shows I've seen at Spaceland (as Mikel insisted on calling it throughout the show) in a while (and exceptional opening set by Walking Sleep. For the last 10 weeks, TATE has been releasing a live video of one of the songs off their new album (released yesterday), and I've been featuring most of them. This last week's was "Half of Something Else," shot at the Santa Monica Pier and featuring the Calder Quartet.

5) Papercranes is the musical incarnation of actrees Rain Phoenix, which released a sophomore album Let's Make Babies in the Woods in January, but has a new video for one of the tracks thereon, "Sea Red". The video for "Sea Red" consists mostly of writhing, semi-clad bodies, but I'd still say it's semi-safe for work. As long as you don't work in a kindergarten or church. Supposedly, all of the songs were recorded without "rest or retakes". Good idea?
6) Neu-country singer (is this a genre?) Amanda Jo Williams is back with a new video for "Sick and Dying". Despite the title, it's an upbeat song, and pretty much features AJW and her ragtag band of followers rocking out in a small room. There's a side story I think involving a lady in a hat.
7) I don't really have a tie-in for boyfriend/girlfriend electronic band Houses' video for "Reds" but I'm featuring it anyway because I think it is so cool. Filmed for under 200 bucks in a 2 car garage, it's all ice sculptures (made with clay molds) lit by Christmas lights. At around 3:00 when everything starts to melt is particularly awesome.

That's it. Talk to you next week. Email me at RFSLJed at gmail dot com with video stuff for me to post.
