The Culture Collide Festival is back for 2012 with its strongest lineup to date, including headliners Of Montreal (US), The Wombats (UK), The Big Pink (UK), Zola Jesus (US) Dean Wareham Plays Galaxie 500 (US) , as well as Los Angeles favorites Pageants and Voxhaul Broadcast. The international music festival, sponsored by Filter Magazine, brings artists and bands from all over the world together with national and local acts to a variety of intimate spaces and large venues in Echo Park. Now in its third year, the event runs October 4-7 and takes place at The Echo and Echoplex, Taix, 826LA,The Church, and Origami Vinyl, all within walking distance of each other. The festival culminates in a free neighborhood block party on Sunday October 7. Most shows (shows at venues where alcohol is served) are 21+, but the block party is all ages. Wristbands that grant admission to all festival shows are available (to those 21 and over) for $20 through ticketweb.com. The full lineup and schedule is posted at the Culture Collide web site.

Lucky to get a ticket for Filter’s Culture Collide festival. The event took place in Echo Park via The Echo, Echoplex, Taix, The Church, Origami Vinyl, and an outdoor venue on the final day of the fest. I loved exploring the participating venues. It was really great!
